Shuswap watershed studies linked to the B.C. Curriculum

Links to the Prescribed Learning Outcomes (PLOs) for the B.C. curriculum are provided. Electronic, yellow “sticky notes” have been inserted to make suggestions how general PLO’s might be attained through studies of the Shuswap watershed. It is strongly suggested that by using an interdisciplinary approach many, PLO’s can be achieved simultaneously. Science, Reading, Writing, Math, Social Studies, are all needed to explore a topic. Drama, Art, or Music might be used by the students to demonstrate their learning or the educate others. By integrating subjects valuable curricular time can be used to maximize student learning and to make a difference for the environment.
